Some experts believe it to be a single star, while others believe it to be a combination of 100 stars that are surrounds the single star, that’s why it is called as shatabhisha which means 100 star nakshatra. The word shatabhishak means 100, so the nakshatra got its name from this number. This nakshatra is also called as ‘Shattarak’.
