God monitors Karmas of people of this world all the time.  After end of a life of any person, he writes his next birth-life in his birth-chart according to his Karmas which he did in his previous birth.  He will have either favorable Yogas or unfavorable Yogas in his birth-chart.  Kalsarpa Yoga is one of the Yogas of inauspicious Yogas. Kalasarpa Doshaa will be present in the birth-chart if the person did bad Karmas in his previous birth.  Rahu and Ketu play main role in the formation of Kalasarpa Dosha.

Rahu-Ketu and Kalasarpa Dosha

Rahu-Ketu are known as painful planets.  According to Vedic scriptures, these two planets are two parts of a body.  This body appears like a snake.  Rahu is a head and Ketu is a tail.  Rahu is known as dragon’s head and Ketu is known as dragon’s tail in English.  Rahu and Ketu are the only planets which always move retrograde and never move in the direct direction.

When Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn are placed between Rahu and Ketu during their transit at the time of birth then Kalsarpa Yoga is formed in the horoscope of a person.  This Dosha is well-discussed by Jaimini, Parashari, Varahmihir, Badrayana and Garg in heir scriptures.  They all are the famous saints of Vedic astrology.  When seven planets place between Rahu-Ketu then their strength will get reduced.

If any planet moves out from the middle of Rahu and Ketu then Kalsarpa Yoga does not form in the horoscope.  In this case, one thing is important to consider i.e.  planet which moves out from Rahu-Ketu should have high degrees than Rahu-Ketu otherwise the person would influenced by Kalasarpa Dosha.  Kalasarpa Dosha forms when Rahu-Ketu are placed in the second, sixth, eighth or eleventh house and all the planets are placed on the one side of hemisphere.  Although, if all seven planets are placed in the opposite direction then Ardhachandra Yoga forms instead of Kalasarpa Dosha in the horoscope.

Modern Views among Formation of Kalasarpa Dosha

Some modern astrologers said if auspicious planets are placed on the lower degrees, debilitated, aspected by malefic planets then their results would be same as Kalasarpa Dosha.
