Karana (कर्ण) : A Part of Panchang

According to astrology, time is assessed through Panchang. Time is auspicious or not is considered through Panchang because Panchang gives the knowledge about the position of planets and Nakshatras and their results. Sometimes we are excited to know what is panchang and why is it called panchang. Astrology says that Panchang is the constitution of five elements which is why it is called Panchang. According to astrology, one yoga is formed by the combination of two karanas. One Karana forms from half yoga and the total number of Karana is 11.

1. Bava Karana
