Influence of Karak Planets of Jaimini Method

Karaks in Jaimini method of astrology are determined by seven planets on the basis of degrees in descending order. Rahu and Ketu are not considered in this process. When the degrees of planets are similar, then minutes and seconds are considered for the determination of Karaks. Among all the seven planets, the first place is accorded to the Aatmakarak planet as it shares the maximum number of degrees.

Karaks of Jaimini are called Char Karak because they are formed with the consideration of degrees in the birth-chart. That is why any change in birth-chart leads to a change in karaks.

Let us discuss the role of these Char Karak Planets:

1. Role of Aatmakarak Planet:
Among all the planets, Aatmakarak planet shares maximum number of degrees. Aatmakarak planet has a direct relationship with the Ascendant. Ascendant House is the body of a person. External and internal qualities of the person as well as his color or complexion are also acknowledged from the Ascendant house.

2. Role of Amatyakarak Planet:
Amatyakarak planet shares less karaks than Aatmakarak planet. The role of Amatyakarak planet is to give advise to others. If the adviser is intelligent, honest, faithful and knowledgeable, then it is considered very good. If this planet is strong, then the person inherits all these qualities. Amatyakarak planet is also known as the karak of money, education and business. If this karak is strong, then the person will achieve success rapidly.

The second house in the birth-chart is the house of wealth and money. Food, family, primary education, way of talking and family business are also acknowledged from this house. Amatyakarak planet is considered for all these areas of life.

3. Role of Batrikarak Planet

Ninth house is considered for taking any decisions about children because it is fifth from the fifth house. Therefore, this house should also be acknowledged. Ninth house is the house of fortune.

6. Role of Gyatikarak planet:
Meaning of Gyati is relationships or relatives without which all the important works of our life are incomplete. This karak puts light on the relationships of the native. This planet represents the elements of the sixth house such as maternal uncle, enemy, accident, diseases, loans, competitions, conflicts, legal proceedings, adopted child and pets.

8. Contribution of Karaks in the Birth-chart:
Incidents in the life of a native are determined according to the position of the karaks and Rajyoga in the birth-chart. They also depend on the periods and transits in the birth-chart. 9. Periods:
In Jamini method the periods of signs are considered instead of the periods of planets. Method to determine the period of each sign is different. A change in sign leads to a change in the incidents of natives’s life.
