There are two methods of Prashna kundali: one is ancient Vedic Astrology and the other one is new Krishnamurthy method of Astrology. In the method of Krishnamurthy, ascendant is determined on the basis of numbers from 1 to 249. The position of planets is determined on the basis of the time of the question asked. The difference between both these methods is related to the position of the ascendant. While the position of the ascendant in Vedic Astrology does not change, the position of the ascendant in the Krishnamurthy method is determined on the basis of numbers from 1 to 249.

In this method the person has to select one number between 1 to 249 to determine the Ascendant. It is not necessary in the krishnamurthy method that the Ascendant should be present in the sky.

In comparison to the birth-chart, the method of making predictions through Prashna Kundali is easy and simple. It is because in the birth-chart planetary strength, house strength and Vimshottari dasha are considered to make predictions. However, in Prashna kundali the planets are given more importance than any thing else. Due to this the predictions are easy to make.

Another important feature of Prashna Kundali is that it is authentic and accurate, because the astrologer has the proper knowledge of the time of the question. The birth-chart is created on the basis of birth-time which is a little difficult to determine. As a result, the results also get influenced and predictions get affected, while in Prashna kundali there are no possibilities of these kinds of mistakes.

In many provinces people do not prefer to make birth-charts, in that case they can resolve their matters through Prashna kundali.
