Sthir Dasha
Many Dashas are used in Jaimini astrology. One of the main dasha among them is Sthir Dasha. The analysis of this Dasha is done to study unwanted happenings, health and negative information about life. It is very simple Dasha of Jaimini astrology. It can be used to study all aspects of life. Jaimini Karakas are used to determine Stir Dasha like the way these are used to determine the Char Dasha.
To understand the order of Sthir Dasha, the determination of Brahma, Rudra and Maheshwar should be done first. It is a dasha which has certain conditions. To calculate this dasha graha bala and Rashi bala is to be calculated for a horoscope and with the help of both these mathematical calculations determine these three Dashas of Brahma,Rudra and Maheshwara. This dasha is used to predict the misfortunes, mishaps and death etc.
In prashari system karakas are fixed according to the house while in jaimini karakas are based on the longitude of planets. There are seven karakas with the planet with highest degree being Atmakaraka. If two planets have the same longitude then they will be joint karakas and the Rahu has to be brought in as the seventh karaka.
Determination of Brahma
Brahma is the creator and destroyer of everything. Brahma can be used to predict both fortune and misfortune in an individuals life. In Jaimini’s Sthira Dasha we need to determine the strength of the signs first to arrive at calculation of Brahma.
Brahma plays a vital role in analyzing the location of Sthira Dasha and Maraka Dasha in the horoscope. To calculate Sthir Dasha in Jaimini astrology, first of all, the determination of Brahma should be done.
To calculate this, we first have to decide which planet is stronger between the ascendant and the seventh house. To find out the strength of ascendant and the seventh house the Rashi Bala is calculated. On the basis of this calculation, the lord of the sixth, eighth and twelfth house is studied from the house which has a stronger sign. The planet which is strongest among all the three lords of the sign will get the designation of Brahma.
Saturn is not given the designation of Brahma among all the planets when it falls in the sixth, eighth and twelfth house.
Determination of Rudra
The strengths of the lords of the second and eighth house from the ascendant is compared to calculate Rudra in Sthir Dasha. Whichever is a strong planet among these two is known as the Rudra of Kundali. Saturn is also included for the designation of Rudra.
Determination of Maheshwar
Maheshwara means Mahaan and Ishwara, this means the one who is present in everything. This is calculated to ascertain incidents in the life of the native both good or bad.In a chart eighth house indicates spiritual bliss and eighth house from Atmakaraka is Maheshwara.
The Lord of the 8th house from Atmakaraka is the Maheswara. If the 8th Lord from Atmakaraka is exalted or in its own house Maheswara will be stronger than the Lords of 8th and 12th house from Atmakaraka.
If Rahu and Ketu form a conjunction with Atmakaraka planet or are located in the 8th house from Aatmakaarak planet, then the 6th planet from the Sun becomes Maheswara.
If two or more planets become eligible for Maheswara, the strongest one should be selected.
Sthir dasha starts from where Brahma is placed. The sign where it is placed will have a period of 7 years, next sign will have a period of 8years and third sign will have a period of 9 years. This sequence will go on repeating. For antardasha each planet will have a period of seven months. For example the Brahma is placed in Libra.so Libra period will be of 7years,Scorpio will have a period of 8years and sagittarius will have a period of 9 years. The same sequence will repeat from capricorn 7 years,Aquarius 8years and pisces 9 years and so on.
