According to northern method of astrology, presence of Mars in 1,4,7,8 or 12th house make the person manglik. On the other hand, according to the principles of southern method of astrology, a person having Mars in 1,2,4,7,8 and 12th house will be Manglik.
Gun MIlan
In this procedure eight kind of gun, collectively known as ashtakoot of bride and the groom are matched before marriage. Each guna in ashtakoot milan has been assigned specific points on the basis of its significance. These eight gun are : varna milan, vashya milan, yoni milan, grah maitri, gana milan, bhakoot milan and nadi milan. Collectively these gunas are of 36 points. Thus, it is important to get at least 18 points out of 36 for a successful marriage. Success of the marriage is directly proportional to the points gained in Gun Milan.
Nadi Milan
Nadis are categorized in the Kundalis of the bride and the groom on the basis of birth Nakshatras. The twenty seven Nakshatras are divided into three categories. Aadi, Madhya and Antya are collectively known as Nadi Milan or Nadi Dosh. It is formed when the bride and the groom have the same Nadi.
Eight points have been given to this Milan. Nadi should not be same for the bride and the groom.
Nadi Milan is the last part of the process of matching Kundalis. This is also considered to be an important Milan. Eight points have been given to this Milan. Many different views explaining the importance of this Milan have been given in the Shastras. According to some, this Milan is considered to be important for the birth of a child. According to others, it is believed that if the bride and the groom belong to the same Nadi, the child may also suffer from health problems of parents.
Nadi should not be same for the bride and the groom. However, marriage can take place if Nadi is same and the Nakshatras are different. For example : If the bride and the groom are born in Gemini sign, where one belongs to Ardra Nakshatra and the other belongs to Punarvasu Nakshatra, then the Nadi Dosh will get cancelled. Some also believe that nadi dosha rectifies, if the stages in a Nakshatra are different even if the Nakshatra is same for both bride and the groom. On the other hand, if the nakshatra of the groom is different from that of a bride under Nadi dosha, then it is known as Nridoor Dosha.
