Prime strengths of planets and signs

According to astrology, planets have various types of Bal (strengths). These strengths tell us about the various auspicious and inauspicious results given by planets and signs. Strengths of planets and signs have been categorized in the following ways : Sthan Bal, Dig Bal, Kaal Bal, Naisargik Bal, Cheshta Bal, Drig Bal, Char Bal, Sthir Bal and Drishti Bal.

Char Bal

Strengths of signs are considered to be the basis of astrology. Some points have been assigned to the three types of signs in astrology. The moving signs have been assigned 20 points. The stationary signs have been given 40 points while the dual signs have been assigned 60 points. The dual signs have been given the most points in astrology. This way, dual signs are the most powerful.

Sthir Bal

Sthir Bal is another type of strengths of signs and planets. The planets in respective signs are studied in this Bal. 10 points are given for each planet that is in a sign. If there are two planets in a sign, it is given 20 points. A sign without any planet is not given any point. For example, if five signs are present in Aquarius sign, then Aquarius is given 50 points. The signs without any points are the weakest.

Drig Bal

The planets being aspected by auspicious planets possess Drig Bal. Another strength of planets is known as Drishti Bal. Drishti Bal is calculated on the basis of aspects of different planets. Drig Bal is one of the most important in order to calculate a planet’s strength. These strengths determine the strength and aspects of different planets.

If a planet is well aspected by an auspicious planet, the native receives auspicious results. On the other hand, if a planet is ill aspected by another planet, the native receives inauspicious results. Drig Bal is acquired by the aspects of different planets on each other. Drishti Bal is associated with a planet in transit and the degree with which it aspects another planet. The degree of planets is very important when we talk about Drishti Bal.

Sthan Bal

Sthan Bal covers various categories of planets like an exalted planet, mooltrikona planet and friendly planet. Sun and Moon possess Sthan Bal when they are in Aries, Leo, Taurus or Cancer sign. The planets are strong when they are in these signs.

Kaal Bal

This strength is determined by the time of birth. For example, if a person is born during the daytime, Sun and Venus will be powerful. On the other hand, if a person is born in night time, Moon, Saturn and Mars will be powerful. Jupiter and Mercury are always powerful.

Naisargik Bal

Naisargik Bal depends on the position of the planets. The first is Sun followed by Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars and Saturn. These seven planets are included in Naisargik Bal. According to Naisargik Bal, one planet is stronger than the other. For example, Moon is stronger than Venus and Sun is stronger than Moon.

Cheshta Bal

Chestha Bal is the one that a planet acquires by revolving around the Sun. Sun and Moon possess this strength when they are in any sign from Capricorn to Gemini. In the same way, some planets possess this strength when they are with Moon. These are Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn.
