It says where one wants to construct a house, details of land must be known. One way is to dig from one corner for about an elbow to small finger and make a small tank and again fill it with the soil taken out. If the soil is filled and still left, it augurs well for the house.
However, if the soil is filled in the tank and no soil is left and the tank is full then, this condition is normal. But if the tank remains empty after pouring all soil and still more required to fill it, it will not be considered a good for making a house.
For constructing a house the month of Margashirsha, Phagun, Magha, Shravan, and Kartik have been considered good. There should not be any plants or trees with thorns. Graha Pravesh should be done after proper Puja according to Vedic rituals.
