Festivals in the Month of Falgun : Falgun Sankranti - 12th February 2023

sankranti 12 Fabruary 2023 In Falgun Sankranti, the Sun will enter the Aquarius sign. The Falgun Sankranti will begin on 12 February 2023, at 27:26 in the middle of the night on Saturday. This auspicious period will continue till the next day i.e. 13 February.


Vijaya Ekadashi Fast: 26th February 2023

The Ekadashi of Falgun month Krishna Paksha is called Vijaya Ekadashi. Ekadashi fast is observed to please Lord Vishnu. Observing this fast ritually removes obstacles from work and makes the person successful. Incense sticks, Naivedhya and Coco-nut is used in the pooja.


Maha Shivratri Fast: 1st March 2023

Maha Shivratri Fast is Observed on Chaturdashi date of Falgun Krishna Paksha. In 2023, On this day, the devotees observe fast, worship Lord Shiva and ordinate Shiva Linga in temples. This yields auspicious results.


Panchak Begins: 1st March 2023

Panchak is beginning on 1st March 2023 at 16:31 minute in the noon and will end on 5th March at 26:29 minutes. All auspicious works should be avoided during this period or else you may have to do the same work five times repetitively.


Falgun Amavasya: 2nd March 2023

The Amavasya of Falgun month is on 2nd March 2023. A large number of devotees gather on this day in Hanuman temples to worship. In addition, soul pacification work for our ancestors may also be done on this day. Bathing ad donations are of great importance on this day.


Holashtak Begins: 10th March 2023

Holashtak will begin on 10th March 2023, Ashtami date, Holashtak begins eight days before Holi. On this day, woods are assembled for Holika Dahan and symbolising Prahalad, a stick is buried in between the woods. This stick is taken out after Holika Dahan. Auspicious works like: marriage, House warming ceremony, Mundan, etc., are not performed in the area after burying the stick.


Aamlaki Ekadashi Fast: 14th March 2023

The Ekadashi of Falgun month, Shukla Paksha is called Aamlaki Ekadashi. It is said that the genesis of Emblica tree was on this day. The person observing this fast should sit under Emblica tree, perform Jagaran and chant Vishnu Stotra. This will free them of all the sins and will attain salvation.


Holika Dahan: 17th March 2023

In 2023, Holika Dahan is on 17th March, Holika Dahan is done after ending of Bhadra. If Bhadra is in the midnight then Holika Dahan may be done in all times except at the time of its beginning. Holi is celebrated for two days; on the first day Holika Dahan is done and on the second, it is celebrated by playing with colours and Gulaals..


Falgun Festival: 18th March 2023

In the year 2023, Holi is on 18th March, Falgun Poornima. This festival is celebrated with great faith and zeal all over India; especially in Mathura and Varsane. It is said that Shri Krishna used to visit Radha’s Village Varsane to play Holi.
