Indira Ekadashi fast will be observed on 21st September 2023.


Ashwin Shukla Paksha: 66th September

Ashwin-Sharad Navratras will begin from the Pratipada of Ashwin Shukla Paksha.The first fast of Navratra will be in Pratapada date. In Pratipada, after taking bath and doing meditation, the seeds of Barley and the seven paddies should be sowed in the earthen pots. Then the flowers and Akshat is poured infront of the temple of the house and Pinnacle is established as per the tradition. After this, flame is burnt and Durga is worshipped along with Shodshopchar.


The Mantra:

“Om Jayanti Mangala Kali Bhadra Kali Kapalini Durga Kshama Shivadhatri Swaha Swadha Namostute”.


After the Pooja, the Durga Saptasati Path should be chanted resolutely as per the tradition till Navami Navaratra.

Vijaya Dashami (Dushehra): October 5th, 2023

After worshipping Ram on this day, the idol of the symbol of anger and arrogance, Ravan is burnt in the evening. Vijayadashmi is also called Dushehra. There is an ancient belief that on this day Lord Shri Ram defeated Ravan and freed Sita from Lanka. The festival of Vijayadashami is celebrated as a victory of truth over lie, Gods on demons and justice on injustice.


Papamkusha Ekadashi: 6th October 2023

Observing fast on this day frees the person from his sins committed by him in mistake and also reduces this habit. The Ekadashi of Ashwin Shukla Paksha is called Papamkusha Ekadashi. In this Ekadashi Lord Vishnu is worshipped.


Ashwin-Sharad Poornima: 9th October, 2023

On Ashwin Poornima, fast is observed and Lord Laxmi Narayan is worshipped. In the night Kheer is cooked with almonds and raisins and is kept in the moonlight. Next day it is offered to God as sacraments and then the Brahmans are fed. After this it is consumed by self along with all family members. The Kartik Bath begins on this day.
