Acharya Vasishta in relation to the principles of astrology were the disciples of Sage Parashara . It wont be wrong to consider Acharya Parashara as the founder of the Astrology. It is also been said that , in Modern era no other astrologer is similar to Acharya Parashara. The scriptures by him ,helps in calming the curiosity, and are close to practical principals.
Related to him , there is an ancient tale . Once sage Maitri , requested Parashars that astrology is divided into three parts. This includes Hora, Mathematics and codes, out of which Hora is of utmost importance and was founded by Maharishi Parashara and cause of its properties has become the most famous science.
There are no details available on the birth date and birth place of Acharya Parashara. Kautilya scripture also describes about Sage Parashara. Parashara has been a popular name in scriptures since ancient times . Parshara’s Bahutparsharahora Scripture is written in 17 chapters.

In these chapters , Rashiswaroop, Grahgunaswaroop, Lagna Vikshaleshan, Shodshavarg, Rashi Aspect, Arishta, Arishta Bhang, Bhaovivechan, Aprakash Grah, Grahsfut, Karak, Karak Shafala, Vividhyoga, Raviyoga, Rajyoga, Daridrayoga, Ayurdaya, Maraka Yoga, Dashafal, Vishesh Nakshatra, Kalchakra, Planet positions, Ashtakvarga, TrikonDasha, Pindasadhaana, Grahshanti etc has been described.
Brahmagupta Jyotishacharya - History of Astrology
BrahmaGupta composed Brahsaphut and Khandkhadhaka Granthas. It is said , that at the time of their compositions , there were disputes going on between Dharmalambio and SanatanaDharamiyo.
To raise the level of disputes , some Buddhist composed Lavanmushti Shastra., which acted a as fuel to the fire in the conflict.
At this time , BrahmaGupta , wrote a shastra and named it Khandkhadhaka, and was considered to be the means of sharing love and affection among the people.Other than science , Brahmagupta also composed many formulas of algebra. He was a well known mathematician of that time. His writings are known as Asind Hind and Khandkhadhaka in Arabian Countries.
Brahmagupta Jyotishacharya has believed that the earth is stable . Thus , opposing the Aryabhatt’s principle of continuously moving earth in circular motion..Khankhadhaka Science , describes the rules of karana astrology.
