Abhijit Muhurat and its Importance | Astrological Aspect Behind the Abhijit Muhurta

It is an established fact that success in any work entirely depends upon the auspicious moment at which it is commenced. Muhurat is that favorable time in which the ethereal currents,  liberated from the planets at that particular moment, will work in the minds of others and make them help the person to attain success.

According to Indian Astrology, Muhurta is the most propitious moment for performing an important event or activity during a particular day. Great Astrologers and intellectuals have developed a complete electional Astrology that guides us the influences contained in the time that are well disposed or ill disposed and select the suitable moment for various events or activities. We call such auspicious moments of the day as shubh lagna and inauspicious moments as Ashubh Lagna.

Abhijit Muhurta is the muhurta based on the position of the Sun. It varies from place to place.  It is calculated on the basis of the sunrise and sun set in that particular city. Abhijit word itself means victorious. so Abhijit Muhurta is the timing at which the event or activity initiated will make the native victorious. It is ideal Muhurat to initiate any activity except marriage or Upnayan.

The Abhijit Muhurat becomes more sacred and powerful if it is during shukla paksh, and the day that has other beneficial yogas. This Muhurta has no dependance on  Tithi, Nakshatra, Rasi or month. This Muhurta is present on everyday and its duration is around 48 minutes.
The calculation of the Abhijit Muhurat can be done even by a layman. He just need to know the time of Sunrise and Sunset of that place where event has to occur. normally it is -24 minutes from lunar Noon time till 24 minutes after lunar time. for example, suppose the sunrise on a particular day is at 6:00 and the Sunset is at 19:00 then the formula for calculating the duration of Abhijit Muhurta is [(sunset-sunrise)/12 ]X 48. now putting the values, [(18-6)/12]X48 = 12/12X48 = 48 mins. now, the Lunar noon time is the mid time of the Sunrise and Sunset. hence, in this case the mid time is 12 noon so the 48 minutes of Abhijit Muhurata is 24 minutes before 12 i.e. 11:36 am to 24 minutes after 12 i.e. 12:24.Thus the abhijit Muhurat is from 11:36AM to 12:24PM for that particular day and particular pl
 
It is believed that, this Muhurat has special blessings of Lord Vishnu. Also,  during this Muhurat only Lord shiva killed the powerful demon Tripurasura.
