Saptamansha Kundali and Navmansha Kundali

Saptamansha Kundali or D-7

The analysis of the progeny is done through this Kundali. To prepare this Varga Kundali, 30 degrees is divided into seven equal parts. The planets with odd signs will be counted from their original position. Whereas,  an even sign will be counted from the seventh sign from its original position. For eg: If a planet is present in an even sign Taurus in the third Saptamansha. This planet will be counted from seventh sign from Taurus i.e Scorpio. The third Saptamansha from Scorpio is Capricorn. That is why, the planet will come under Capricorn sign in Saptamanshsa Kundali.

The seven equal parts of 30 degrees are as follows:

  1. The first Saptamansha will be from 0 degree to 4 degrees 17 minutes and 8 seconds.
  2. The second Saptamansha will be from 4 degrees 17 minutes and 8 seconds to 8 degrees 34 minutes and 16 seconds.
  3. The third Saptamansha will be from 8 degrees 34 minutes and 16 seconds to 12 degrees 51 minutes and 24 seconds.
  4. The fourth Saptamansha will be from 12 degrees 51 minutes and 24 seconds to 17 degrees 08 minutes 32 seconds.
  5. The fifth Saptamansha will be from 17 degrees 08 minutes 32 seconds to 21 degree 25 minutes 40 seconds.
  6. The sixth Saptamansha will be from 21 degree 25 minutes 40 seconds to 25 degrees 42 minutes 48 seconds.
  7. The seventh Saptamansha will be from 25 degrees 42 minutes 48 seconds to 30 degrees.

You should study the planet according to the degrees at which it is situated in thebirth chart and the Saptmansha it lies in.

Navamansha Kundali or D-9

This Kundali is a significant Kundali after Ascendant Kundali. Various other fields along with married life are studied with this chart. Few points should be kept in the mind while preparing this chart. Here, the twelve signs are divided into equal groups of three signs.

1st, 5th and 9th signs are fiery signs. If any planet is present in these signs in the birth chart, then it will be counted from Aries sign. For eg: if any planet is in Sagittarius sign, then it will be counted from Aries sign.

Method of preparing a Navamansha Kundali

While preparing a Navamansha Kundali, first of all note down the degrees of the ascendant and the degrees of the planets in a birth chart. For eg: If Cancer sign is present in an ascendant and it is of 4 degrees 15 minutes. Let us now study the characteristics of Cancer sign. Cancer is a watery sign and comes under the second Navamansha of ascendant. Watery signs are counted from Cancer. Leo sign comes two signs ahead of Cancer sign. Hence, Leo will be the sign of ascendant of Navamansha Kundali.

Now, place the planets in Navamansha Kundali. Moon is present in Sagittarius sign at 15 degrees. Sagittarius is a fiery sign and hence it will be counted from Aries. Moon comes in the sixth Navamansha in Sagittarius sign at 15 degrees. Now, let’s see which sign comes in the birth chart at sixth place from Aries. The sixth sign from Aries is Virgo. Place all these planets like this on the Navamansha Kundali.

Let us now revise the birth chart once again. To prepare a Navamansha Kundali, study the type of the sign in which the planet is present. For eg: The fiery sign will be counted from Aries. An earthy sign will be counted from Capricorn. Counting of an airy sign will be done from Libra and watery sign will be counted from Cancer.

If a planet is present in Aries sign in the first Navamansha. Then, it will come in Aries sign in the Navamansha. If a planet is present in the first Navamansha of Capricorn, then it will be present in the Capricorn sign. If a planet is present in Libra sign in the first Navamansha, then it will go to Libra Sign in the Navamansha Kundali. If a planet is present in the first Navamansha of Cancer sign, then it will be placed in Cancer sign in the Navamansha Kundali.
