The difference of time in every country created problems for all the countries in military and other issues. That is why, a standard time was decided for the whole world. This standard time got international acclamation in the 1884 B.C. Every country implemented this time.
This time is decided in royal laboratory of Greenwich in England. Hence, this time is known as Greenwich Mean Time. The determination of Greenwich mean Time is done on the basis of rotation of earth on its axis in 24 hours.
Changes are done in Greenwich time at regular intervals because earth never takes the same time while rotating on its axis.
