Categories of Questions
To answer the questions of a questioner from a Prashna Kundali, you should first identify the question. You will not able to provide the appropriate answer of the question unless you understand it. That is why, you should be able to identify a question. You will be able to judge the subject of the question, if you have an understanding of the nature of the question. The three categories of questions according to the ancient method are:
Dhatu Chinta
This category consists of questions related to metals like gold, Silver and any other valuable object which is lost. If first, fourth, seventh and tenth sign come in the ascendant of a Prashna Kundali, then the native has a question related to a metal.
Mul Chinta
This category of questions consists of the questions related to agriculture, examinations and wisdom and skill of a person. If second, fifth, eighth and eleventh sign are present in a Prashna Kundali, then the questioner may have a Mul Chinta.
Jeev Chinta
This category is used to analyse the questions related to living beings like human beings, animals and birds etc. If third, sixth, ninth and twelfth sign come in the ascendant of a Prashna Kundali, then the questioner may have a Jeev Chinta.
All the planets are divided into three parts. These three parts are also used to analyse Dhatu, Mula and Jeev Chinta. But, there is difference of opinions in the categorisation of Dhatu, Mula and Jeev Chinta.
First opinion
The Dhatu Chinta is analysed through Sun, Mars, Rahu and Ketu and the Mula Chinta is viewed through Saturn and Mercury. The Jeev Chinta is viewed through Jupiter and Venus.
Second opinion
The Dhatu Chinta is analysed through Saturn, Mars, Rahu and Ketu, Mula Chinta is analysed through Sun and Venus and the Jeev Chinta is analysed through Jupiter, Mercury and Moon.
Third opinion
According to the scholars of the third opinion if the ascendant and the planet related to a ‘Chinta’ is present then the same ‘Chinta’ will be present. For example, if the ascendant related to metal and planet related to the metal is present then there will be a Dhatu Chinta. If the ascendant related to a living creature and a planet related to a living creature is present then there will be a Jeev Chinta. If the ascendant and planet related to the wisdom and skill of a person are present then there will be Mul Chinta. Many other rules are also made for the identification of a question apart from the above rules. The ‘Chinta’ in the ascendant according to the Navmansh of even sign and according to the Navmansh of odd sign will be different.
Let us first see the Navamansh of odd sign.
- If the first Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Dhatu Chinta.
- If the second Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Mool Chinta.
- If the third Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Jeev Chinta.
- If the fourth Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Dhatu Chinta.
- If the fifth Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Mula Chinta.
- If the sixth Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Jeev Chinta.
- If the seventh Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Dhatu Chinta.
- If the eighth Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Mula Chinta.
- If the ninth Navamansha is of odd sign then there will be a Jeev Chinta.
This sequence will be opposite in the case of even signs.
- If the first Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Jeev Chinta.
- If the second Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Mula Chinta.
- If the third Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Dhatu Chinta.
- If the fourth Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Jeev Chinta.
- If the fifth Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Mula Chinta.
- If the sixth Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Dhatu Chinta.
- If the seventh Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Jeev Chinta.
- If the eighth Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Mula Chinta.
- If the ninth Navamansha is of even sign then there will be a Dhatu Chinta.
We can view the ‘Chintas’ stated above according to the Nakshatras. The counting of the ‘Chintas’ is done from the Ashwini Nakshatra in the sequence Dhatu Chinta>Mula Chinta>Jeev Chinta. For instance, there will be a Dhatu Chinta if Ashwini Nakshatra is there, Mula Chinta if Bharani Nakshatra is there and Jeev Chinta if Kritika Nakshatra is present. The rest of the Nakshatras will also be placed like this.
The division of ‘Chintas’ into divisions like Dhatu, Mula and Jeev can be also done on the basis of body language of the questioner. For instance, if the questioner is looking upwards then there will be a Jeev Chinta, if he is looking upwards then there will be Mula Chinta and he is looking in front then there will be a Dhatu Chinta.
Apart from this, if the questioner is touching the upper parts of his body then there will be a Jeev Chinta, if he is touching the middle parts of his body then there will be a Dhatu Chinta and if he is touching the lower parts of his body then there will be a Mula Chinta.
