Primary houses of planets according to Lal Kitab
The system of Laal Kitaab gives more importance to houses (bhava) than signs. This does not mean that signs do not have any relevance in the Laal Kitaab analysis, they are relevant in their own way. But, the houses in a horoscope has been given more significance and considered to be a major aspect for the analysis of good result and character of the native. Each planet is the Karaka of some or the other house and considered to be the fixed house in the method of Laal Kitaab.
In Vedic astrology each planets is assigned with one Karaka, similarly in Laal Kitaab each house is also allocated with one Karaka. According to Laal Kitaab, these Karaka are known as fixed houses of the planets. Planets are considered to be more important since Laal Kitaab give more significance to houses, rather than signs. The Karak elements of Vedic astrology and Laal Kitaab are almost same. however, there might be some differences in the Karak of few houses in Laal Kitaab.
According to a principal of Laal Kitaab, a house is considered to be in a sleeping state if it is not aspected by any planet. But if the planet is situated in a fixed house like Sun in the first house, Jupiter in the second house etc then that planet is considered to be in awakened state. It means that the planet will be able to affect other planets aspecting the house with its effect.
Another point to be considered about Laal Kitaab principles is that signs of each house is considered to be stable for instance; aries will always stay in the first house, taurus in the second house and so on. The birth time of the native does not affect this sequence.
Thus, each planet is related to a house which is known as the fixed house. These fixed houses are as follows:
- House 1 is assigned to planet Sun.
- House 2 is assigned to planet Jupiter.
- House 3 is assigned to planet Mars.
- House 4 is assigned to planet Moon.
- House 5 is assigned to planet Jupiter.
- House 6 is assigned to planet Mercury and Ketu.
- House 7 is assigned to planet Mercury and Venus.
- House 8 is assigned to planet Mars and Saturn.
- House 9 is assigned to planet Jupiter.
- House 10 is assigned to planet Saturn.
- House 11 is assigned to planet Jupiter.
- House 12 is assigned to planet Jupiter.
These are the most important principles of Laal Kitaab and all the analysis are based on these principles only. The fact behind studying these houses is that the person is also able to understand the karak element of these houses that plays a vital role in formation of the horoscope.
