Chhinamastika Jayanti 2025 – Chinnamasta Jayanti

Out of the ten most worshipped Goddesses, Chhinamastika Mata is considered to be the sixth. In 2025, Chhinamastika Jayanti will be celbrated on 11 May. Devi Chhinamastika Jayanti is worshipped with a lot of excitement. Devotees worship Mata Chhinamastika in a special way on this day. The place of worship is decorated with colourful lights and flowers. Mantras are chanted and Mata Chhinamastika is worshipped. A lot of devotees from all over the world visit Mata Chhinamastika’s temple to worship her.

Chhinamastika Devi is also known as Mata Chintapurni. Many ancient religious texts talk about Devi’s this form. Markandeya Purana and Shiva Purana completely explain this form of Mata Chhinamastika. According to these, Devi transformed into Chandi to kill the demons.

Mata killed the demons and brought victory to the Devas. But, Ajaya and Vijaya who were Mata’s aides were not satisfied as they wanted more blood. Mata cut her forehead and offered them her blood. Hence, she is known as Mata Chhinamastika.

It is believed that wherever Mata Chinnamastika temple is surrounded by temples of Lord Shiva. This is a proven fact as this place is also surrounded with Lord Shiva’s temples. Temples like Kaleshwar Mahadev, Muchkund Mahadev and Shivvaadi are present.

Maa Chinnamasta Origin Story

One story about Mata Chinnamastika goes as follows : Devi Bhavani was taking a bath in the Mandakini river. She had two aides with her. These aides felt hungry while taking a bath. They asked Devi Bhavani for some food. Devi Bhavani asked them too wait but they kept insisting.

The aides suddenly said, ‘A mother provides her children with unlimited food’. Devi Bhavani fell for it and cut her own head which fell in her left hand. Three streams of blood came out of her head. Two of these streams were consumed by the aides which satisfied them. The third one was consumed by Devi. Since this day, she came to be known as Mata Chhinamastika.

Importance of Chhinamastika Jayanti

Even before Mata’s Jayanti, arrangements are made. Mata’s place of worship is decorated beautifully, just like a bride. Ma Durga Saptashati Puja is also organized on this day. All the devotees take part in this Puja. Food is also offered to devotees comprising of various dishes. Mata relives a person from all sorts of worries.
All the wishes of Mata’s devotees come true. A Puja for world peace and mankind also takes place in Mata’s temple on this day. This is to make sure that everyone is blessed by Mata Chhinamastika. The temple administration makes various arrangements for the devotees. Many devotees visit Mata’s temple just to see Mata’s pure idol.

Dhumavati Jayanti 2025 – Dhumavati Jayanti

Ten incarnations of Mata are worshipped on the day of Dhumavati Jayanti. In 2025, Dhumavati Jayanti will be celebrated on 03th June. Dhumavati Devi’s Puja and special worship is organized on this day. It is believed that a person’s wishes come true by offering black sesame seeds in a black cloth to Ma Dhumavati. According to tradition, married women do not worship Ma Dhumavati and just have a glimpse of her from a distance. It is believed that a married woman’s son and husband are protected by doing this.

According to Purana, once Ma Dhumavati visited Lord Shiva as she was hungry. She asked Lord Shiva to help her but he was meditating. Hence, he did not notice Ma Dhumavati. As a result, she tried to eat Lord Shiva. But, due to the poision in Lord Shiva’s throat, she ended up looking dull and ugly. Smoke started coming out of her mouth and that is why she is known as Dhumavati.

Importance of Devi Dhumavati Jayanti

Dhumavati Devi’s appearance is scary and dangerous. Dhumavati’s appearance is of a widow. She rides a crow and wears white clothes. She does not tie her hair. It is believed that Devi’s appearance may seem to be cruel and scary but she always blesses the children. A glimpse of Ma Dhumavati offers many blessings. She was born to kill the demons and sinners. She is skilled enough to kill all kind of demons. She is related to Jyeshtha Nakshatra and is also known by the same name.

Mata Dhumavati is the basis for the powers of Saint Durvasa, Bhrigu, Parshuram etc. She is also known as Kalahpriya as she is considered to be the Devi for this world’s Kalah (problems). Ma Dhumavati’s appearance is scary as she needs to fight the demons. She is a widow and wears white clothes. The flag hoisted on her chariot has a picture of a crow. She has a Shurp in her hands. She ends all fears and gives relief to people. Ma Dhumavati Jayanti is celebrated in the whole country with a lot of zeal and excitement. Shri Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti – Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti 2025 – Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti

Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is an eternal mother and nurturer. She is also known as Om Shakti or Adi Shakti, one of the earliest forms of shakti. This year, Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti will be celebrated on 04 September 2025. She is the manifestation of Lord Shiva. She is the most radiant and gentle of all the goddesses. She is the fourth of the ten Mahavidya goddesses and an aspect of Devi. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari holds a moon on her forehead and blessed with radiance and sharp features. She is considered as the supreme goddesses who creates everything and destroys evils of the world. A person who worships Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is blessed with power, strength, wisdom and wealth.

Appearance of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari

Goddess Bhuvaneshwari is the creator and the Queen of the Universe. She controls the consciousness of the entire world. She has been given an important place in the Gayatri Mantra. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari has one face and four hands. Two of her hands bless the devotees while the other two hold the noose and angusam. The whole universe is her body and she is the gold of all beings. She is a symbol of supreme power.

Her complexion is dark. Her nail depicts the entire universe. She has a radiance on her face and wears Moon in the form of her crown. Goddess has three eyes and four hands each in Varad Mudra, Ankush Mudra, Paash Mudra and Abhay Mudra.

Goddess Bhuvaneshwari Mantra

A person who chants Goddess Bhuivaneshwari’s mantra is blessed in various ways. It can also be chanted to please other gods and goddesses. Bhuvaneshwari Mantra, “ Om Aim Hreem Shreem Namah” (Mool Mantra), “ Hrum Om Kreem” (Treyakshari Mantra), “Aim Hrum Shreem Aim Hrum” (Panchokshari Mantra). A person who chants this mantras is blessed with wisdom and strength.

Rituals to worship Shri Bhuvaneshwari

Kalratri, Eclipse, Holi, Deepawali, MahaShivaratri, Krishna Paksha and Ashtami are considered to be auspicious to worship Goddess Bhuvaneshwari. The devotee should offer red flowers, rice, sandalwood, Rudraksha beads etc. to the goddess while performing the puja. Spread a red cloth and establish the goddess’s picture or idol on it to worship her.

Significance of Bhuvaneshwari Jayanti

The devotee should recite texts from Treyolokya Mangal Kawacham, Bhuvaneshwari Kawach, Shri Bhuvaneshwari Panjar Strot while worshipping Goddess Bhuvaneshwari. Perform homas, tarpan and offer food to girls. A person who worships her with full dedication gets all his wishes fulfilled. He is provided with protection against all evils in the world and gets freedom from the fear of the cycle of birth and death.

The entire universe is controlled by her. She is the mother and the nurturer of all beings in the world. Her beej mantra is the creator of the universe. Thus, she is also known as Rajeshwari Paramba. She is gentle, sympathetic towards her devotees. She protects her devotees and helps them to gain wisdom and attain salvation.

Kurma Jayanti 2025 | Kurma Avatar | Kurma Avatar Story

Kurma Jayanti is celebrated on the day of Purnima in the Vaishakh month. This year, Kurma Jayanti will be celebrated on May 12, 2025.  It is believed that Lord Vishnu incarnated as Kurma (Turtle) on this day. It is also believed that Lord Vishnu lifted Mandaranchal parvat on his back in this incarnation as Kurma.

Kurma Avatar Story

According to legends, Lord Vishnu can be seen as a turtle in this incarnation which has been related to Samudra Manthan, i.e, the battle between Devas and Demons that took place in the sea. It is believed that during the reign of Bali, the demons were very powerful and also had the powers of Shukracharya.

The Devas were not able to fight them as Lord Indra was cursed by Saint Durvasa and was powerless. Taking advantage, Bali established his kingdom in all three lokas and the devas were wandering helpless.

All devas went to Lord Brahma and asked for help. Lord Brahma along with all the devas, visit Lord Brahma ad tell him about the problem. Lord Vishnu suggests about a battle which would take place in Kshir Sagar. During this battle, the devas would consume Amrit (Holy water). They would be immortal and would be able to kill the demons.

The devas agreed to this battle as suggested by Lord Vishnu. They chose Mandaranchal parvat as the centre and Nagraj Vasuki as the rope. They took the Mandaranchal parvat to Kshir Sagar but it started drowning as soon as it was left there.

During this time, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Kurma and lifted Mandaranchal parvat on his back. Thus, the battle between the Devas and the Demons could be completed.

Significance of Kurma Jayanti

The day on which Lord Vishnu incarnated as Kurma is celebrated as Kurma Jayanti. This day is considered to be very important according to the Shastras. Starting construction works on this day is considered to be very auspicious as it is believed that Yogmaya resides with Kurma. This day is also auspicious for works related to Vastu, shifting in a new house etc.

Mahakali Jayanti 2025 – Mahakali Jayanti – Mahakali Jayanti Date

In 2025, Mahakaali Jayanti will be celebrated on 15  August , Goddess Kaali appeared in the manifestation of Mohini to kill Madhu and Kaitambh. The day when goddess appears in front of Lord Brahma from the body parts of Lord Shiva such as eyes, face, nose and arms, is celebrated as Mahakaali Jayanti. She was born for the destruction of devils.

Mahakaali is the feminine form of Lord Shiva. Mahakaali is incorporated from within Lord Shiva. This manifestation is known as Ardhnarishwar. They are the creators of the universe. Aagam Shastra have described them as the supreme power. Mahakaali is also known as Ardhratri (half night). She possess many arms and can take up any form. She is known for destruction of evils.

Goddess Mahakaali can be seen seated on a dead body of Lord Shiva. Her four arms depict destruction, raised to destroy evils. Her second arm holds a chopped head and the third one denotes safety from demons. The one who worships her is protected from demons and evils.

Appearance of Mahakaali

Goddess Mahakaali is sitting over the dead body. She looks scary with sharp teeth and witty laugh. She possesses four arms holding a sword in one arm, head of a demon in the second hand and the third one in Abhay Mudra. She has wild eyes and a protruding tongue. She wears a belt of severed heads. She is resides in cremation ground.

Mahakaali Story

According to the Hindu scriptures, the gods could not kill the demon Raktabija. The demon had a blessing of reproducing himself from every single drop of blood that touched the ground. Thus, whenever the gods used to attach him the blood dropped on the ground multiplied itself into an other demon. In despair, the gods turned to Lord Shiva. In order to kill Raktabija, Goddess Mahakaali appeared. She spread her tongue over the battlefield preventing even a single drop of Raktabija’s blood from falling on the ground. Thus preventing Raktabija from reproducing himself.

Goddess Mahakaali is also known as Shyama, Kalika, Dakshina Kalika, Griha Kali, Kalratri, Bhadrakali etc.

Significance of Mahakaali Jayanti

On the day of Mahakaali Jayanti, Mahakaai Shatnaam Dhara Path is recited along with performing a homa. Sundar Kand is also recited at some places on Mahakali Jayanti to please goddess Mahakaali. Devotees actively participate in Mahakaali Puja. A person who worships her with full faith and dedication gets all his wishes fulfilled. The temple authorities organize yagya and bhandara for the devotees visiting the temple.

Parshuram Jayanti 2025 – Akshaya Tritiya – Sree Parshuram Jayanti

In 2025, Parshuram Jayanti will be celebrated on 29 March , on Tritiya of Shukla paksha. Lord Parshuram was born on Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya which is why this day is celebrated as Lord Parshuram Jayanti.

Parshuram is known to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was the son of Raja Prasenjit’s daughter Renuka and Bhrigu dynasty’s Jamdagni. Parshuram was devoted to Lord Shiva. He had immense knowledge and was a great warrior. The day of his birth is celebrated as Parshuram Jayanti all over India with a lot of zeal and excitement. A Parshuram Shobha Yatra is organized on this day along with other Havans, Pujas, Bhandaras etc. Originally, his name was Ram. But, he came to be known as Parshuram because of the mystical weapon called Parshu which as given to him by Lord Shiva.

Parshuram is believed to be Lord Vishnu’s sixth incarnation. According to religious texts, he was born on the day of Akshaya Tritiya, Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya, which is also celebrated as the day of his birth. Observing fasts and other religious works have been the trademarks of this day for centuries. According to beliefs, he defeated Kshatriyas a number of times. He was born to free the world of Kshatriyas’ pride. Dronacharya was taught by Parshuram.

Significance of Parshuram Jayanti

It is believed that Tretayug began on the day of Vaishakh Shukla Paksha Tritiya. It is also known as Akshaya Tritiya. Parshuram is believed to be born on this day. According to Bhagvat, Parshuram was born on this day to destroy the kings of Haideya dynasty. Parshuram was the fifth son of Jamdagni and Renuka. He had four elder brothers : Rumanvant, Sushen, Vishwa and Vishwavasu. This day is celebrated as Parshuram Jayanti because Parshuram was born on this day.

Parshuram has immense knowledge and was a great warrior. He wanted to live for the benefit of mankind. Parshuram had immense energy and was a great human being. Parshuram always helped the ones in need and was just in every decision he took. The day of Parshuram’s birth, i.e, Akshaya Tritiya is important in its own way. Any auspicious work done on this day gives fruitful results. This day is considered to be auspicious. Works are done on this day without even looking for an auspicious time. Parshuram Jayanti is celebrated with a lot of dedication and excitement by Hindus. Parshuram’s character seems flawless in ancient religious texts. Originally, Parshuram’s name was Ram. Hence, it is also said that Ram was born before Ram.

Parshuram Story

Two stories are famous about Lord Parshuram’s birth. According to Hari Vansh Purana, there was a city named Mahishmati Nagri in ancient times. This city was ruled by Haiheya dynasty’s Kartaveerya Arjun (Sahastra Bahu). He was a cruel king. Goddess Earth went to Lord Vishnu because she was distressed by the Kshatriyas. She asked for his help. Lord Vishnu promised her that he would be born as a son to Jamdagni in order to destroy the kingdom of Kshatriyas. Lord Vishnu Incarnated as Parshuram and defeated the kings.

Parshuram killed Arjun and freed the Earth of Kshatriyas 21 times there on. He filled five ponds in Samantpanchak district with their blood. Saint Trichik asked Parshuram to stop doing this. Hence, he gifted the Earth to Saint Kashyap and started living on Mahendra Parvat.

Mahatara Jayanti – Mahatara Jayanti 2025 – Mahatara Jayanti Festival – Devi Tara

Mahatara Jayanti is celebrated all over India with a lot of excitement. This year, Mahatara Jayanti will be celebrated on 05 April, 2025. Worshipping Maa Tara on the Navmi Tithi of Chaitra month and Shukla Paksha is considered to be extremely important for Tantriks. Bhagvati Tara is one of the ten Maha Vidyas. Devi Tara is considered to be the aggressive form of the Goddess related to Sun’s destructive powers.  When there are a lot of problems in a person’s life and there is no solution, Ma Tara makes her presence felt by eradicating all of his problems and sins.

Devi Tara is another form of Goddess Shakti. Worshipping her provides a person with knowledge, science and happiness. Devi Tara is also known as Tarini Vidya. Aggressive form of Tara, Ekjata and Neel Saraswati are her forms. It is believe that Devi Tara defeats a person’s enemies and provides a person with success and salvation.

Origin of Devi Mahatara

There was darkness all around before the origin of the Earth. There was no energy and the Goddess of this darkness was Ma Kali. A ray of light originated in this darkness which came to be known as Tara. Tara is the power of a saint named, Akshobhya. Tara is believed to be Swamini Devi of every Pind in the universe. She originated at the time of the origin of the Earth and that is why she came to be known as Devi Mahatara.

Devi Tara is also known as Mahaneela and Neeltara. There is a legend famous for these names. According to the legend, during the battle at the sea between the Devas and the Demons, a lot of things came out of the sea. When poison came out, all the three Loks were terrified and faced immense danger. All the saints and Devas asked for Lord Shiva’s help. Lord Shiva drank the poison and saved the world. He help the poison in his throat due to which, his whole body turned blue. When Devi realized Lord Shiva’s suffering, she entered Lord Shiva’s body and decreased the poison’s effect, which gave him some relief. But, even Devi’s body started turning blue because of the poison. Lord Shiva then called her Mahaneela. She came to be known as Neeltara because of the same.

There are three main forms of Devi : Ugratara, Ekjata and Neel. Saraswati Devi provides Lord Brahma with power. Devi has seven different powers due to which she is able to save the people, world and the universe. These seven powers are : Para, Paratpara, Ateeta, Chitpara, Tatpara, Tadteeta and Sarwateeta. A person receives immense energy by worshipping Devi. A devotee of Devi Tara has immense knowledge. She is known as Maha Vidya as she provides a person with both happiness and salvation.

Worship of Mahatara

Worshipping Devi Mahatara provides a person with vocal powers, saves him from enemies and provides salvation. The following Devi Mantra should be chanted : Stri Hun Han Hun Fatt. This Panchakshari Mantra provides a person with stability and success. Devi Tara is a form of Mata Bhagvati. She provides the whole world with light and life.
