To determine the auspicious date for marriage, birth sign of bride and groom are taken into consideration. The chandra nakshatra in which bride and groom are born, the letter that comes in that nakshatra can also be considered to determine the vivah muhurat. The date of marriage is determined only after matching the horoscopes of bride and groom, since horoscopes are not matched after determining the date.

In order to determine the vivah muhurat, according to the tables, the same position in the zodiac signs of bride and groom is taken for determining the date. For example - if the male of aries sign is marrying the female of cancer sign, then dates will be favourable for them to get married.
