Kurma Yoga - Kurma Yoga in a Kundali
Formation of Kurma Yoga in a kundali appears in the shape of a Kurma. Just like the feet of kumra are spread in all directions, this yoga is also formed in 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th,and 11th house. This yoga is formed when the benefic planets are situated in the exalted sign or in its own signs, or in a friendly sign or in navamsha in fifth, sixth and seventh house of the kundali.
The planets in Kumra Yoga give good results when placed in ascendant, third and eleventh house of the kundali in exalted sign, own sign, friendly sign or Navamsha.

Formation of Kurma Yoga
Kurma Yoga is a significant Yoga in astrology. There are certain conditions that should be fulfilled for the formation of this Yoga. According to the first condition, the fifth, sixth and seventh house should comprise of auspicious planets in Deepta awastha, Swastha or Mudit awastha for the formation of Kurma Yoga.
As per the second condition, the yoga can be also be formed if inauspicious planets are placed in the ascendant, third and eleventh house. These planets should be also in Deepta or Swastha Awastha.
If any one of the above-mentioned conditions are not fulfilled in the kundali, then the Kurma Yoga formed will not be able to give its full results.
Effects of Kurma Yoga
For the formation of Kurma yoga, the fifth, sixth and seventh house should comprise of auspicious planets in Deepta, Swastha or Mudit awastha. Yoga formed under this condition gives good results to the native.
Kurma yoga is formed only if both the conditions are fulfilled. This is because the position of planets in this yoga should be similar to the shape of a Kurma. As per the description of Kurma yoga in Jyotish Shastra, it is said,
Putra Rimdane Saumya Swachakshishadigo Khala ।
Trilabhadyaga Swachabhamshaga Kachapo Matah।।
