Dasha of Venus and its impact on our lives

Venus is sensuous planet that ignites sensuality. It is known as ‘Shukra’ in hindu mythology and is the son of great of sage Bhrigu and Khyati. It is the significator of all the beautiful things like romance, beauty, sensuality, passion, comforts, luxury, jewels, wealth, art, music, dance, season of spring, rains, flowers etc.

When Venus is strong and is rightly aspected, it brings wealth, comfort, attraction to the opposite sex at an early stage in his life. It makes its natives tender, gentle, tender and considerate.

Venus in Mythology

According to Hindu astrology, sage Bhrigu had a son who was himself a renowned sage called Shukracharya. Venus is also known as Shukracharya since he agreed to become a teacher of the Asuras. He worshipped lord Shiva in order to protect the demons and was granted the ‘Mrit-Sanjivini Vidya’. He could revive the dead and could give him immortality with this knowledge.

Venus - A natural benefic in Astrology

Venus is considered an undisputed benefic in astrology. According to the rules of astrology, no Muhurta is favourable unless Venus is sighted. A person with a strong Venus in his Kundali has attractive looks and beautiful eyes. Such a person always tries to present the best of him. He creates an image or a style that identifies and distinguishes him.

Happiness in a person’s life is governed by the fourth house and Venus is Karaka of the fourth house. Venus is also the lord of second and the seventh house of the natural zodiac. The second house governs wealth, family, face and right eye whereas seventh house indicates happiness related to marriage, relationships and partnerships. Hence, Venus is clearly related to the material happiness.

Dasha of Venus

It has been observed that with the onset of the Dasha of Venus, a person starts appreciating the beauty in nature and art. It can bring best in us since it comes after the seven years of the Dasha of Moksha Karaka Ketu. It makes the life of the native blissful and refined. It also gives a developed sense to appreciate art and beauty.

Mahadasha of Venus

Venus if is well-placed, exalted, is in its own house, Mooltrikona sign, Kendra houses or is in 5th, 9th or 11th house from the ascendant, gives great results. If it is debilitated, combust, ill-associated or in the 8th or 12th house, then it may give adverse results. But, any conclusion should not be drawn without keeping in mind its lordship and placement.

However, there are certain Antardashas during the Mahadasha of Venus which have to be assessed very carefully because they sometimes yield peculiar results.

Venus - Rahu

This Dasha gives rise to drastic changes in life like great rise or a terrible fall, setbacks in business, recovery from a disease etc. Hence, assessment for this Dasha must be done very carefully keeping in mind the lord of Venus, Rahu’s association with the other planets and their placement from ascendant.

Venus - Jupiter

The results of this Dasha are seen primarily from the condition of both the planets. If both are blemishless, then one can expect good results. Venus and Jupiter are enemies of each other but they both promote spirituality. This Dasha needs to be studied carefully for Taurus and Libra ascendants.

Venus-Saturn

Venus-Saturn period will give good or bad results according to their overall position. The general results of this period include sudden humiliation, tension, transfers, climax or termination of career. But, this depend upon the lordship and Avastha of Venus.
