According to astrology, there are certain phases or periods which are not considered auspicious to perform marriage rituals. These phases are : displacement of Venus and Jupiter, Solar or Lunar eclipse, Pitra Paksha, Bhishma Panchak etc. Performing marriage ceremonies in these periods are not considered auspicious. Only auspicious dates are considered to conduct marriage in Hindu culture.
Moon sign of the bride and groom are taken into consideration while calculating an auspicious date for marriage. Other factors such as the phases of Nakshatra in which bride and groom were born and the letter corresponding to it are also considered while calculating the date. The date of the marriage should be taken out only after matching the compatibility chart of the bride and groom.
Out of all the possible dates calculated, one which is common according to the moon sign of the bride and groom is finalized to conduct marriage. For example : If an Aries man is getting married to a Cancer woman, then the common dates thus calculated will be auspicious for marriage. Following dates are auspicious for marriage. Dates are calculated on the basis of Moon signs. All the important factors such as, Tribal shudhi, Surya-chandra shudhi etc. are taken into consideration while calculating them.
During this year, Guru (Jupiter) will set in west on 15 December 2019 and will rise from east on 10 January 2020.
In this year, from 12 December to 14 December The Guru(Jupiter) Vardhakya dosha will remain. Vardhakya means that time of the day before Jupiter sets which is not considered auspicious.
Till 13 January 2020 Jupiter will be in balyavastha. This is the time exactly after Jupiter rises which is not considered auspicious for getting married.
On 19 July 2019, venus will set in east and after that will rise from west on 29 December 2019. Venus is considered as the carrier of marriages, so it is not considered auspicious to get married when it sets.
From 16 July to 18 July venus vardhakya dosha will prevail. Vardhakya means that time of the day before Venus sets which is not considered auspicious.
Till 2 October 2019 venus will be in balyavastha. Venus will remain in balyavastha which is not considered auspicious for getting married.
In this year, from 14 September 2019 to 28 September 2019, shraddha will remain and they are also not considered auspicious to get married.
In many parts of north India, it is not auspicious to get married chaturmasya. Marriages cannot be done from shukla ekadashi of asadh maas till purnima of kartik maas.
Paush month will remain from 13 December 2019 to 10 January 2020 and in this month sun will be in sagittarius sign, that’s why this month is not considered auspicious to get married.
Holashtak will remain from 3 March 2019 to 9 March 2019. This period is not considered auspicious for marriage.
In 2019, bhishma panchaka will remain from 8 November 2019 to 12 November 2019, during which it is not considered auspicious to get married.
