Satyanarayan Vrat Date In 2024

The Satyanarayan Vrat Katha is primarily performed on Poornima Tithi of a lunar month. Besides, it is also performed before commencing any auspicious task. It is believed that when one follows the lessons from the Satyanarayan Katha and observes the fast, the person is relieved from all his/her problems.

However, many times as per the calculations of Panchang this fast is observed on Chaturdashi Tithi instead of Poornima, this is because this fast is to be commenced from the period of Moonrise keeping in mind the Pradosh time. If the Pradosh period falls on the first day itself and there is no clarity, then observing this fast on Chaturdashi Tithi will be most ideal.

Lord Vishnu is worshipped on this day. A fast is observed full day and Puja and Katha is carried out in the evening. Food is consumed only after that.
