When Sun moves 12 Ansh forward, then a change of date occurs. Apart from this, when there are 109 Ansh to 120 Ansh from the Sun to the Moon, then according to Chandra month, that period is marked as Dashami Tithi. Similarly, the period from 289 Ansh to 300 Ansh is marked as Dashami Tithi of Krishna Paksha is going on. Dashami Tithi is one of the Purna Tithis. Work done during Purna Tithi are said to be complete.

When the difference between the Sun and Moon is 109 degrees-120 degrees, then it is Shukla Paksha Dashami, and when the difference is between 289 degrees-300 degrees, then it is Krishna Dashami.

Dashami Tithi Yoga

When Dashami Tithi falls on a Saturday, then it is considered equivalent to Amrit Yoga Tithi. Moreover, if this Tithi falls on Thursday, then it becomes Sidhida Yoga. Amrit Siddhi Yoga gives results according to its name. Work done during Siddhi Yoga are said to get complete.

It is believed that worshipping Yamraj on Dashami Tithi blesses the person with a healthy and long life. Dashami Tithi is also believed to give salvation to the native from the fear of untimely death. North direction is considered as the direction of Dashami Tithi. It is considered auspicious to travel in this direction during this Tithi. On this day, “Deep Daan” is also done to Yamraj.

Dussehra is also celebrated on Dashami Tithi. It is also known as Vijaya Dashami. It is celebrated with full pomp and show in the entire country. This Dashami festival is celebrated on the Dashami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. It is a symbol of the establishment of religion by ending unrighteousness. This festival is celebrated on the tenth day after Ashwin Navratri. This Tithi is also known as a unique Muhurat, in which starting a new business or work is considered auspicious, along with this purchasing a new vehicle, gold, silver, jewellery or new clothes is also considered auspicious.
