Mahashivratri -The fourth day of Falgun is celebrated as Shivratri. On this day Lord Shiva is worshiped. According to Puranas, the beginning of the world started on this day. Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati were married on this day and hence they are worshipped. Shivratri comes every month, when it falls in the Falgun month it is celebrated as Mahashivratri.
