Benefic Planets and their existing State(Avastha) | Importance of Planetry Conjuction

Planetary conjunctions play an important part in the Astrological predictions. The conjunction can be with benefic planets or with malefic planets. Conjunction of good planets yield beneficial results. Planets on account of their incessant movements get into certain state of existence called Avasthas. 

The planetary state of existence can be in various forms. Each form produces its own benefic or malefic results.

Exaltation:

Every planet has friendly and inimical signs. Also, there is a sign for which a planet is exalted. For example, the Sun is exalted in Aries and the Moon is exalted in Taurus. When the planets are in exalted sign then you get gains from conveyances, respect from elders, fame, wealth and good progeny.

Own house:

Planets in their own sign give fame, wealth, position, land, happiness and good children.

House of friend:

Position of planet in a friendly house gives happiness. 

Retrogression:

When planet is in retrograde state or in backward movement it gives courage, reputation, wealth and progeny.

Residence in the last quarter of the sign:

If a planet is placed in the last quarter of the sign then the planet gives malefic effects as prosecution, incarceration, pilfering habits and expulsion from country.

Inimical house:

Placement of planets in the inimical sign leads to malefic effects such as jealousy, mental worry, brain trouble, sickness, degradation.

Combustion:

When the planet is in combust state due to its position, it leads to malefic results as disease, orphanage, loss of wife and children and disgrace.

Debilitation:

If the planet is in its debilitated sign or Neech rashi malefic results such as losses, trouble from various sources, quarrel with parents, imprisonment, hating God are produced.

Each planet is supposed to get a particular share of strength when it occupies a particular position. There are six sources of strength called Shadbalas.

Sthanabala:

This is a positional strength that a planet gets when it is in exaltation in its own sign, mooltrokona or in a friendly house.

Digbala:

This is the directional strength. Jupiter and Mercury are powerful  in the East(ascendant). The Sun and Mars get North ( 10th house), Saturn in West(7th house), Venus and Moon get strength in the south (4th house).

Motional Strength:

The Sun and Moon in the sign of Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus and Gemini which constitutes Uttarayana (Sun’s Northerly course) Mars, Mercury, Venus and Saturn in retrogression or in conjunction with full Moon gets Motional Strength.

Kalabala:

Kalabala means temporal strength. The Moon, Mars and Saturn are powerful during the night. The Sun, Jupiter and Venus are powerful during the day. Mercury is powerful at all times.

Drugbala:

It is due to the aspect of one planet over another. Aspect of Benefics enhance the drugbala while aspect of malefics takes away the drugbala.

Naisargikbala :

This is one of the permanent natural strength. The order of strength is from the Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars and Saturn. The Sun is most powerful and Saturn is the least powerful.
