Rashi Bala

The Rashi Bala is analysed first in Jaimini fixed dasha. The three kinds of Balas are calculated to find out the Rashi Bala. The sum of these three strengths is known as Rashi Bala. These three Balas are:

  1. Char Bala
  2. Stir Bala
  3. Drishti Bala

First of all the Char Bala will be calculated.

(1) Char Bala

Rashi Balas are considered the base of Jaimini astrology. Every sign has its own basic nature. As, you have read in previous chapters that the 12 signs are divided into three sections. These three groups are movable signs, fixed signs and dual-natured signs. The movable signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius signs are fixed signs. The dual-natured signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. In Char Bala points are obtained by signs.

Few points are decided for the signs of three sections in Jaimini astrology. These are as follows:

  • Movable sign will get 20 Shastiyansha points.
  • Fixed signs will get 40 Shastiyansha points.
  • Dual-natured signs will get 60 Shastiyansha points.

According to the points given above, the dual-natured signs get highest points. Therefore, these signs are strongest among all the signs.

(2) Sthir Bala

The second step to find out Rashi Bala is calculating Sthir Bala. To calculate this Bala, the planet placed in this Bala is calculated. When a planet is present in a sign then that sign gets 10 points. When two planets are present in a sign then the sign will get 20 points. If no planet is present in a sign, then that sign will get zero point. For instance, Aquarius sign has five planets in the example Kundali of chapter 2 and therefore the Aquarius sign will get 50 points and the signs in which no planets are present will get zero points.

(3) Dristhi Bala

The last Bala of Rashi Bala is called Dristhi Bala. You have seen till now that the Bala was obtained on the basis of signs but in Dristi Bala the calculation of Bala is done on the basis of Dristis or the aspects of planets. To make a prediction according to the Gemini astrology, keep in mind that the aspects of signs are considered in Jaimini astrology. In this Bala, the sign which is aspected by its own lord gets 60 points and the sign also gets 60 points when the lord is present in its own sign. In the chapter two of Char Dasha, Moon is present in Scorpio sign and Scorpio sign is aspecting Cancer sign. Cancer sign is also being aspected by its planet lord Moon. That is why, Cancer has got 60 points in the cancer sign.

Let us understand the rule stated above in brief once again. When a planet is present in its own sign or when the lord of a sign is having an aspect on its own sign, then the sign gets 60 points. Apart from this, a sign also gets 60 points when the planet present in them is Mercury or Jupiter. The signs on which Mercury and Jupiter have an aspect get 60 extra points.

Let us assume that Mercury is present in Aries sign and Jupiter is present in Virgo sign. Mercury will not aspect his adjacent sign while being situated in Aries sign. It will form an aspect on the other three fixed signs which are Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. Therefore, all the three fixed signs will 60 points. Mercury is present in Aries sign and hence Aries sign will also get 60 points. The same rule will be applicable for Jupiter. If Jupiter is present in Virgo sign, then it will get 60 points. Along with this, the aspect of Virgo sign on the three dual-natured signs i.e Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces will give them extra 60 points.

Now, we will add Char bala, Sthir bala and Dristi bala.
