(1) Characteristics of Rashis:

The movable signs 1, 4, 7,10 are variable signs.  
Fixed Signs 2, 5, 8, 11 represent the current state of a task.    
Dual-natured signs like 3, 6, 9 and 12 represent the delay in work. The scholars of astrology believe that the nature of first 15 degrees of these signs resembles to that of fixed signs and the nature of rest 15 degrees resembles the nature of movable signs.

Shirshodaya Signs - 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 signs are responsible for the success of a task. The front portion of these signs acts first and hence these signs are known as Shishodaya Signs.
