Muntha - Muntha Calculation - Muntha in a Kundali
Muntha is particularly used in the calculation of Varsha Kundali. It stays in the ascendant sign of the kundali and moves to a consecutive sign every year. For example: If Muntha in a kundali is situated in the Aries ascendant in the first year of the native’s life, then in the second year it will fall in the Taurus sign and so on. In this manner muntha reaches the Lagna again in twelve years.
Muntha is not a planet, but is as important as other nine planets in the horoscope. Analysis of Muntha determines the various situations and effects of other signs and planets on the life of the native. To calculate Muntha in a kundali the sign placed in the ascendant is analyzed. Count the number of houses starting from Lagna. Muntha will be situated in that house. E.g. If the remainder is 5 then muntha in the calculation then it will be placed in the fifth house from Lagna.
Effect of Muntha
Muntha is an important part of Varsha Kundali with respect to the Lagna. The annual results will only be auspicious when the Muntha will conjunct its own sign or exalted sign.
Munthyesha conjuncting auspicious planet or being affected by them gives good results.
Muntha in the 2,9,10 and 11 house gives financial stability. It depicts good financial condition to the native.
Conflicting situations of Muntha
Muntha is not considered to be inauspicious in 4th, 6th, 8th and 12th house of the horoscope. On the other hand, Muntha in conjunction with the 7th lord, 8th lord and 12th house gives auspicious results.
Munthyesha conjucting a debilitated sign or situated in the weak or enemy house also gives inauspicious results.
Muntha being aspected by aggressive planets gives opposite results.

Muntha situated in 4, 6, 7, 8, 12 house is not considered auspicious. Similarly, the situation of pachadhikari and varshesh is analyzed in the horoscope. If Varshesh is weak, then it gives auspicious results. Hence, the results of Varshaphal depends upon all these significant factors and conditions.
