According to the astrology, a huge transformation has occurred in the zodiac. As per the famous astrological institute, the count of sign has changed from 12 to 13. That means sun will have to travel 13 sign instead of 12, in a year. ‘Ophiuchus’ is the name of this new sign joining the family of Zodiac sign. It is placed between the Scorpio and Sagittarius sign. Sun will be in this sign only for a time period of 18 days. Sun will now move out of Scorpio sign on 29th November itself. And then, for 18 days it will stay in Ophiuchus sign. After 18 days, sun will transit in Sagittarius sign. 

This topic is yet not very clear. Different views are coming up. Addition of a new sign will bring up problems for astrologers who believe in Vedic astrology, that, now how to calculate the degrees of each sign.  

Considering the position of zodiac, earth has moved three degrees from its original position. Movement of earth from its original place has given birth to a new sign. How will this change in universe affect the life of people? Estimates are being made on this issue. 

Vedic astrology is an ancient form of astrology. The experts of this astrology do not accept the astrological changes of western countries. It was earlier said the number of planets have increased from 9 to 12. Vedic astrology had denied from accepting this as well. Vedic astrology does not follow the changes whether in universe or in zodiacs. 

Addition of 13th sign in zodiac may be true or fake. It won’t be possible to get the right information at this time. It will be difficult to divide zodiac of 360 degree into 13 parts. Each sign is of 13 degree 20 minutes. What will be the new degree for each sign? All these change will completely turn the framework of astrology. From planets condition to their position, everything will get changed in a Kundali. 

Sliding of earth from its location may be scientifically true, but it can not be easily accepted by Vedic Jyotish. On the other hand, number 13 is always regarded inauspicious in western countries. It will be too early to decide that whether the astrology of western country approve the 13th sign or not. Who knows the unfavorable number 13 when included in signs, forecasting the future of human shall bring favorable or inauspicious result. To known the answer we may have to wait for a while. 

Two kinds of people are involved with astrology. One, who have been educated traditionally about astrology, for whom astrology is the source of income. They may feel quite odd in accepting the change of sign from 12 to 13. The other class of people knowing astrology include the ones who learned it from big astrological institutes. Like the big turns of life, they approve the changes of universe. They pay keen attention even to the minute changes of astrology. And they have no issues in accepting the scientific facts. 

Vedic astrology considers the birth sign of a person according to the positioning of moon. Whereas in western astrology, the birth sign of a person is decided on the basis of sun’s location on the date and month in which an individual is born. For example; Sun transits in one sign for a month. Its speed is about one degree in a day. Hence, western astrology considers sun as the basis of their predictions.

On addition of new sign in zodiac, the location of sun on month and date as per western astrology will be the following. People born between 29th November to 17th December will have Ophiuchus as their Sun sign.
