Lord Rama’s beauty if considered to be even more than that of Lord Sun. Lord Rama’s worship is the ultimate truth that gives peace to everyone. He is the basis for everything. Lord Rama’s whole life was based on principles. He was also known as Maryadapurushottam Rama and devoted his whole life in fulfilling his duties for the mankind. Lord Rama is a symbol of principles for all Hindus. He was born in Ayodhya as a son to King Dashrath and Queen Kaushalya. Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrugan were his brothers. He was married to King Janak’s daughter, Sita, who is considered to be an incarnation of Goddess Laxmi. Lord Hanuman is believed to be Lord Rama’s biggest worshipper.
Due to Kaikeyi’s wishes. Lord Rama was sent to exile for fourteen years. He obeyed his father and went away with Sita and Lakshman. He killed Ravan during his stay in exile and freed mankind from demons. Lord Rama’s popularity all over the world is an evidence of his magnificence.
Lord Rama was a perfect son, husband and a king. He was intelligent, energetic, strategic and did everything based on principles. He was made the King of Ayodhya on his return. No one was unhappy during his reign. People were content and lived happily with each other. There was no sort of discrimination among the people.
He laid the base for an open-minded society. Various incident from his life depict that he was loving ad caring to everyone. He treated everyone with love and respect without any discrimination. Some of these incidents can be related to the boatman, Shabri, Sugriv, Angad, Jambuvant, Jatayu etc. On the other hand, Ram setu from India to Sri Lanka and the victory over Ravan’s army is an evidence of unity.
Lord Rama’s birthday is celebrated every year on the day of Chaitra Shukla Navmi. Special prayers are offered to Lord Rama on this day. People can be seen offering their prayers and worshipping Lord Rama in different ways. Tulsidas started writing Ramcharitmanas on this very day. People even keep a fast on this day. Such people are free from all sins of this and previous lives. Various festivals of Hindu religion, like Dushera and Diwali, are related to Lord Rama’s life.
