In this world, its not just Hindu religion that worship and prasis women power. Here Shakti and Shaktiman are considered similar. Blaze and light of fire can never stay away from fire. As soon as fire is lighted, it emits blaze and light. Wood or timber get consumed by it. Similarly, lord Shiva can never be separated from Sati. Different scriptures state different number of Shakti Peeth.

Generally, 51 Shakti Peeth are said to exist. According to Devi Bhagwat Puran, there are 108 Shakti Peeth of goddess Sati. Kalika Puran mention the existence of 26 Shakti Peeth. Shiva Charitra say them to be 51, whereas, Durga Saptsati and Tantra Chudamani tell about the presence of 52 Shakti Peeth.
