In Vaishakh Month, the tradition of taking bath in the morning and donating foods, clothes, fruits etc., as per the capability, at any holy place are considered beneficial.

Kamada Ekadashi Fast 2023, 1/2 April

In the year 2023, Kamada Ekadashi Fast is on 12th April. Observing this fast with all the rules and devotion, full fills the wishes related to the fast of the devotee. Observing this fast brings peace and happiness in the life of the devotee and at last brings enlightenment to him. During Ekadashi fast, foods are avoided and only fruits can be eaten once. On this day, the idol of Lord Vasudev is worshipped with all the rituals and fruits are offered. The devotees should sleep on the ground near the idol.


Shri Mahavir Birthday (Jain) 2023, 04th April

The birthday of Mahavir is of great importance for the people of Jain religion. A great zeal and enthusiasm can be seen in the temples of Mahavir during this celebration. At many places fairs are organised for five days. In the fair, activities like flag hoisting, birthday procession, travelling on boats, chariots and ordination of Pinnacle(Kalash) are performed. After the Chariot procession, the idol is re-established in the temple. On this day, a huge crowd of devotees gather at the temple to worship Lord Mahavir. In the evening, the temples are decorated with the lamp lights and candles.


Shri Hanuman Birthday 2023, 06th April

The birthday of Lord Hanuman is celebrated on Purnima of Shukla Paksha, Chaitra Month. This day is of great importance for the devotees of Lord Shri Ram and Hanuman. On this day Lord Hanuman is decorated and then worshipped. The devotees observe fast on this day. In the evening, aarti is performed and the offerings are made. The chanting of Hanuman Chalisa and the Hanuman Stotra makes Lord Hanuman happy.


Shri Ganesh Chaturthi Fast 2023, 09th April

The fourth date is liked much by Lord Shri Ganesh. Ganesh is worshipped first before worshipping any other God. Observing the Chaturthi fast fulfills all the wishes of the devotee. This fast may be observed to gain success in your works, fulfilment of your wishes, Child, wealth and comforts or to remove any trouble.


Varuthini Ekadashi Vrata, Shri Vallabhacharya Birthday, 16th April

This year Varuthini Ekadashi Vrata will be observed on 16th April. Observing the fast without drinking water gives most favourable results. In a Fast, there are 25 to 27 Ekadashis. Ekadashi fast is observed to please Lord Vishnu. On this day, chanting the mantra “Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevay” and then donating things like : cow, clothes, umbrella (which is used to cover the god in the temples), fruits,etc., pleases Lord Vishnu.
